External Examination.
A 1 inch wide stake is driven into the heart of the victim. The opposite end is driven into the wall between seams to be held in place. Upon pulling the victim off the stake a puncture wound to piercing all four chambers of the heart was discovered. There is a concerning lack of hemorrhage surrounding puncture 1.0. This indicates the injury was made postpostmortem. Upon removal of the victim’s clothing, an odour of hypochlorite (bleach) was detected The body was swabbed with hypochlorate (bleach). The stake was then swabbed and found to be POSITIVE for hypochlorite.
Internal Examination
Brain weight is within normal limits. The hyoid bone is fractured. No airway obstruction is present, respiratory epithelia appear inflamed/irritated. The heart weighs 270 grams, and has a normal size and configuration if not for the puncture wound. The intestinal mucosa is intact and columnar epithelial cells are inflamed/irritated. The glands are enlarged. A sample of pleural blood and bile is submitted for toxicological analysis. Stomach contents only include the normal flora, enzymes, and HCL. There was no blood particles in the small intestine. Various samples of tissue were collected and anzalyzed. Crytopheres were present throughout the tissue and consistent with the victim’s known genetic disease cryptopheria. The disease is not considered to be the cause of death. During this histological analysis, multiple instances of capillary leak syndrome were discovered, and all are consistent with Abrin toxin poisoning. A sample of pleural blood is submitted in an EDTA tube. Routine toxicologic studies were ordered.
Laboratory data:
Drug screen results: Urine screen NEGATIE. An unknown compound similar to lyophilized form of an alkaline heme was found in blood. Bacterial cultures were all found to be NEGATIVE.
Opinion:
Time of Death: 9:30PM to 11:30PM. On Tuesday evening.
Immediate Cause of Death: Abrin is a toxic protein obtained from the seeds of Abrus Precatorius (jequirity bean). Abrin is lethal to undead with an estimated vampire fatal dose of 0.3-1 ug/kg. This toxin can be easily extracted from beans. Given the chemical analysis, the beans were locally grown. MANNER OF DEATH: Homicide
Other notes: the victim appears to have been involved with an experimental drug. It appears to be experimental. The unknown compound is not responsible for death.
